Photography is a profession that I stumbled upon later in life. I knew I had an interest in college, but never pursued it and majored in Recreation Therapy instead. It wasn’t until the birth of my daughter that I realized I was going to need a much faster shutter speed to capture all her moments. After purchasing my first DSLR camera, I dove into my manual and played around with the settings. It was through this self teaching, that I discovered an intense passion for photography.
I then enrolled in classes at my local college. I am mostly self taught, but there are three ladies that I must recognize for helping me develop as a professional: Karyn Kuniyuki, Lindsey Eltinge, and Cathy Murphy. Each photographer has provided me with varying perspectives and insights into the profession. Through their mentorship, I have expanded my portfolio and abilities.
I often feel about photography as Ansel Adams did when he said “sometimes I do get to places just when God’s ready to have somebody click the shutter.” Establishing myself as a lifestyle photographer allows me to capture your timeless memories. Each photo session brings satisfaction to the artistic side of my personality and I look forward to being your photographer.
